Stellar Housing Development Breaks Ground

Improving housing options is one of Culver’s top goals in growing their community, and was a central component in their Stellar application. Now the town has hit a major milestone in reaching that goal by breaking ground on the Sand Hill Farm Housing development on November 8th. Located just west of downtown Culver, Sand Hill Farm will have a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments totaling 24 units. This fall, the town approved a residential tax abatement for the development, making it the first residential abatement in Marshall County. Sand Hill Farm was also recently awarded Regional Cities funding, and is one of the first major Stellar projects to break ground.
This new housing development will include 24 apartments to meet the needs of Culver’s growing workforce and improve quality of life. Culver’s largest employers—Elkay Wood Products, Culver Public Schools, and Culver Academies—have specifically requested more year-round rental units for their workers and have supported this development. Sand Hill Farm has been made possible thanks to many groups including the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Regional Development Authority, developer Kevin Berger, the Town of Culver, Culver Redevelopment Commission, MCEDC, and Lake City Bank.
