Plymouth High School Grows Manufacturing Day Initiative10/10/2018 Marshall County employers are asking for more opportunities to connect with local students, because they will soon be the next generation of workers. The Marshall County Economic Development Corporation is responding to this request to engage the youth with a unique event. On October 10th, eleven area businesses opened their facilities to host tours for over 280 Plymouth High School students as part of Manufacturing Day. This national event gives manufacturers the chance to engage the public in the work they do, the products they make, and the careers they provide. 280 freshmen from Plymouth High School visited Hoosier Racing Tire, WestRock, Pretzels Inc., Pregis Innovative Packaging, CTE Solutions, Homestead Dairy, and Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, all of which participated last year. Additionally, 4 new business, A.K. Industries, Miller’s Merry Manor, Valmont Industries, and ITAMCO joined this year in hosting tours of Plymouth students. The event exposes students to these businesses and the variety of careers they offer to develop our future workforce.
