FAA Supports Plymouth's Infrastructure Improvement Plans

Persistence by the City of Plymouth in applying for a federal grant results in a $2.5 million improvement project at the municipal airport.  Local leadership continued to pursue the grant over several years due to a plan to improve this community asset.  The airport has tremendous local use and plays an important role in local commerce.

Multiple funding sources will support the project, including a $2.2 million Federal Aviation Administration grant awarded last October, and matching funds from the Indiana Department of Aviation and the city.

The project, which will include the reconstruction and widening of the existing runway and taxiways and improvements to the lighting systems, will ensure long-term viability and usage by corporate executives who prefer the easy access to the local airport.

The project began in mid-May building upon the recent renovation of other airport facilities.
