AK Industries seeking tax abatement on $2 million expansion

Monday, Oct. 14 the Plymouth Common Council passed a resolution declaring the area of the proposed expansion an Economic Revitalization Area. This is the first step in the tax abatement process which is expected to be finalized at the next common council meeting, Oct. 28th.

The expansion includes a $500,000 investment of real estate and a $1.5 million investment in equipment and machinery. This investment is expected to result in ten new jobs immediately with another 30 jobs being added as machinery is installed and becomes operational.

AK Industries is a leading producer of fiberglass and polyethylene products used in the wastewater industry. Their line of products includes polyethylene septic tanks, sump pump pits, basins and large fiberglass lift stations for municipalities.
