2018 Fast Facts

For 11 years, Marshall County Economic Development Corporation has endeavored to expand and diversify the economy and grow our community. This year, we have engaged in innovative planning and transformative projects that have touched every city and town in Marshall County. The following is a small sample of these efforts:
  • Marshall County named Regional Stellar Communities finalist – community developed 16 Stellar projects and 13 complimentary projects with projected $156 million economic impact
  • Argos Manufacturing Center building completed and currently being marketed – $2.2 million capital investment so far
  • Argos successfully advocated for interchange at U.S. Hwy 31 and S.R. 10 instead of J-turns
  • Dollar General expanded to Bourbon – $1 million capital investment Bourbon promotional video developed
  • Bremen Hometown Collaboration Initiative placemaking project under way, which will lead to a significant streetscape revitalization in 2020 – $10,000 capital investment
  • Culver Stellar project, Sand Hill Farm apartments nearly completed – $270,000 in Regional Cities funding
  • The Paddocks housing development awarded $925,000 in rental housing tax credits and $500,000 from IHCDA development fund
  • LaPaz investigated and determined capability of sewer extension to new commercial development
  • Winona Building Products expanded to Plymouth – $60 million capital investment
  • Aquatic Center and Early Childhood Learning Center under construction – $10.6 million capital investment
  • Total Investment by Manufacturers:
    • $81.3 million in capital investment
    • 255 jobs created
  • Annual Per Capita Personal Income Growth:
    • 2016 – $38,169
    • 2017 – $40,335
    • Growth – 5.67%*
