Marshall County Comes Together to Transform the Region

In early March, over 40 local leaders and citizens from across Marshall County met to discuss strategies that transform our quality of place so we can attract and retain top talent.

The discussion is part of the planning process for the Regional Cities Initiative through the State of Indiana meant to address population stagnation. Here are a few of the points that resonated from the attendees:

  • Support for Entrepreneurial and Small Business Development
  • Improving the Quality of Life
  • Workforce Development
  • Real Estate Development, including both industrial and residential development

Not surprisingly, some of these issues are tasks incorporated in the MCEDC strategic plan and common themes heard at “Community Development for the Future”, an economic development roundtable held quarterly in the County.

The discussion will continue in early April as the region develops its forward thinking plans for long term economic growth.
